About YOSAKOI Soran Festival
The event starts with 1,000 participants from 10 teams in 1992 (Heisei 4), with an event that dances by mixing “Naruko” and “Soran-bushi” from Hokkaido with reference to the “Yosakoi Festival” in Kochi Prefecture. It is now an event that approximately 30,000 people from inside and outside Japan participate, and approximately 2 million spectators visit. At Odori Park, the main venue, you can see dances on the parade and the stage, and there are “Waodri Square” where you can go in and out, and booths where you can taste food from all over the country. Dance venues will be set up in various places in Sapporo. In addition to energetic choreography, bright costumes and makeup are one of the highlights.
Speaking of Soran, it is famous all over Japan. The author was brought up in Okayama, but it is a good memory that I danced the Soran Festival in the sixth grade of elementary school children at the athletic meet.
Such so, the majority of the Japanese can dance a bit for Soran (^ ^) /
The dance is like this.
In addition, there is no Japanese who does not know YOSAKOI dance famous in Kochi Prefecture!
YOSAKOI is characterized by dancing with Naruko.
Dance while waving Naruko. Naruko makes a sound. It’s rhythmic and interesting!
It is a fusion of such two dances! This must be funny!
The people who are dancing are children, students and adults and a wide range of generations. The way everyone dances with a smile is sure to hit the heart of the person there!
I think that the figure of hundreds of people doing a big action dance by waving a big fishing flag is exactly the art.
The costumes are also gorgeous and look amazing.
The video below is a performance that won the 2015 Grand Prize for YOSAIKOI Soran Dance.
I like it. I feel passion.
Besides, every time the festival is held it will be distributed live on the internet! Isn’t it best to see the festival on the net?
If you are interested in that, it is good to go to Hokkaido, it is good to see on the net. It is.
